What is truth?

Truth or reality is often perceived from one's own point of view.

For example for a person who has only ever lived on a desert island with no contact at all from the outside world would see truth as only what has been revealed to him by his environment, his experiences and his own internal processes (thoughts, ideas etc.). We know there is more to the world, but to our isolated islander this is his truth.

We too can base our view of truth on what we have learnt from our environment, experiences and our personal ideas and those of others. Our life’s outcome will be a direct result of what we believe. So it is fundamental that we believe absolute truth for our life to reach its fullest potential.

We have the privilege of being able to believe whatever we choose. And today there are no shortages of options. To whom do we go to find truth? Psychologists, mathematicians, physicians, theologians, leaders, separatists? The list is almost endless. The truth we're talking about here isn't fact relating to the physical or temporal realm but eternal and spiritual reality.

To find absolute truth we need to go to the source of truth itself.

Jesus (who is perfect) said he, personally, is the Truth.

So, truth is not an abstract philosophy or set of formulas, but is found in a person. The person of Jesus Christ.

Where does this leave you? If you do not know Jesus personally, truth can not be revealed to you. You will spend the rest of your life using a belief system developed from environmental, experiences and ideas (of yours or others). This surely cannot deliver the best outcome for your life both now and eternally.

Open your life to the Truth—to Jesus. Develop a personnel relationship with him. And allow Truth to be revealed to you.
