The meaning of life

Money, material possessions, good physical condition and beauty. These things, while good, will only satisfy at a physical level. In reality they could be all gone tomorrow.

Great mental ability, good times, friends, family and success. While they may bring satisfaction on one level, cannot bring total fulfilment.

True meaning and a sense of wholeness can only come from within our heart or spirit. Because this is a spiritual condition. The solution needs to be a spiritual one.

The current or natural condition of our heart needs changing or transforming. The current state of our spirit needs to be made alive, be born again.

This can only come through the ultimate life source—the one true living God.

Because we are actually separated from God. Reconciliation and restoration needs to take place. Because the nature of all mankind is imperfect and is incapable of right standing with God, God himself has made a way of bringing himself to us. We are unable in everyway to do this ourselves. God’s way of bringing yourself into right relationship and to become approachable to him is through his Son Jesus Christ.

Jesus' sacrifice of himself on the cross broke down the barrier between mankind and God.

Restoration of God’s originally intended relationship with you and the transformation of your heart will come as you pray (talking) to God saying that you:

  1. Acknowledge that your way of living has been self-centred and not God-centred. And so, you’ve decided to change.
  2. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that through him being a "sin sacrifice" for us, and that God raised him from the dead, opens the way to a relationship with God.
  3. Confess that Jesus is the master of your life.

Once you have taken these steps you can begin to develop a relationship with the living God your Heavenly Father. Also allow the Spirit of God to begin to do a work in your heart. Changing your nature to be more like that of God himself.

This transformation by God's Spirit, and the outworking of the nature of God in your life, will bring a sense of wholeness. This is unattainable through anything this world has to offer. You are living as God your creator had always intended you to live.

From this point meaning and purpose will come from doing what your Heavenly Father desires and you living for Him.
